George Hurrell

Today I want to mention one of my all time favorite photographers, the man dubbed the “Grand Seigneur of the Hollywood Portrait”, George Hurrell (1904-1992). The image posted is of Jean Harlow from 1934 and I am lucky enough to have an original print of this image in my collection on the wall. Hurrell said about Harlow, “She was not frightened by the camera, she reacted to it, and in some strange way, I was the third party-they were conspirators.”
Do yourself a favor google his name, and then get one of his books or prints and see a true master of light. I feel that however strange or different he would light a person, they would ALWAYS look good! There is so much to learn from a man like him.
